2010 Elections are here...

Hello University of Washington students!

The Associated Students of the UW have begun their election season officially today, and that means students can expect to see constant facebook updates, candidate and ticket t-shirts and buttons, and supporters all over campus.

In previous years, I've blogged about the elections under a pen-name, being semi-discrete with my identity until after the elections were through. I used the pen-name because I had friends running on all tickets and because I was working with other ASUW employees who wanted to keep their names private. This year I still have friends on all of the tickets, but I don't feel the urge to keep my name private.

I will be writing about all of the tickets, analyzing their activities, their strengths and weaknesses, and my opinion on their successes or failures. So far, I have accepted every facebook invitation to become a fan of any candidate or ticket, and I will continue to do so. I have not yet picked who I will be voting for in any election, and am looking to see what they all have to say before I make up my mind.

Later today, I'll post an analysis of each of the tickets in a general, broad sense. Next week I'll write about each of the candidates, and any activities I see or hear about.
